Restaurant Owner Slaps Employee For Being Late: Palos Hills Cops
Landscaping equipment and a handicap placard were reported stolen in separate thefts from vehicles: Palos Hills police blotter.
The following information is from the Palos Hills Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.
Theft From Vehicle
On Aug. 12 at 3:30 p.m. police spoke with a resident in the 8900 block of 100th Place in reference to a theft from motor vehicle complaint. Police were advised that the victim had left their vehicle unlocked and a handicap placard was removed without permission.

On Aug. 14 at 11:30 a.m. police responded to the 8200 block of Chestnut in reference to a theft from motor vehicle complaint. Upon arrival, police learned that a landscaping vehicle was left unattended while the company was working in the area. When the workers returned, they observed landscaping equipment missing from the trailer.
DUI

Samantha Neeley, 40, of Palos Hills was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to signal when required and driving with expired registration at 8 p.m. on Aug. 13.
Battery
On Aug. 16 at 4 p.m. police responded to Thassos Restaurant, 11011 S. Southwest Highway in reference to a battery complaint. Upon arrival, police were advised that an employee arrived late for work. The owner of the business advised that it was unacceptable and an argument ensued. The owner then slapped the worker in the face. Criminal complaints were refused at this time, but the worker wished to have the incident documented.
Criminal Damage To Property
On Aug. 17 at 10:30 a.m. police responded to the 8500 block of 102nd Terrace in reference to a criminal damage to property complaint. Upon arrival, police learned that unknown subjects had damaged three tires on a vehicle that was parked in the lot.
