SXU Softball Pitcher Strikes Out 20, Takes No-Hitter Into 13th
Allison Golic took a no-hitter into the 13th inning of a 1-0 Saint Xavier University victory.

ROSEMONT, IL – One of the most dominating performances in the history of softball in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics unfolded Thursday when Saint Xavier University pitcher Allison Golic struck out 20 batters over 13 innings of work in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament win over Judson University. Golic also had a no-hitter going into the final inning of the game.
The Cougars needed every bit of Golic's dominating performance as they themselves were no-hit through the first nine innings of the game. A run in the top of the 13th was the only score during a 1-0 SXU victory.
Golic struck out the side in the 2nd, 4th and 10th innings, which accounted for nine of her 20 K's on the day. The NAIA confirmed she's just the seventh softball pitcher in league history to strike out 20 in a single game. And, she only walked one.

She was brought in for the bottom of the 13th to preserve the win and cap off the no-hitter. After getting the first two out, her no-hit bid ended when Judson reached on a single through the right side of the infield to record their only base hit.
With the win, SXU advances to the CCAC Tournament semifinals with a game on Friday.
