Body Found On The Cal-Sag Identified As Missing Man

The body of Western Springs resident Arturo Jacobson was found on the surface of the canal between 96th and 104th avenues.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – A Western Springs man who was reported missing earlier this month and considered to be endangered by police has been found dead. The body of 21-year-old Arturo A. Jacobson was found on the surface of the Cal-Sag canal between 96th and 104th avenues in unincorporated Cook County on June 22, according to police.

Jacobson's identity was confirmed by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office on Wednesday. A week earlier, authorities found his car in Alsip not far from the Cal-Sag canal.

The Medical Examiner's Office has indicated a preliminary cause of death as drowning, although toxicology reports remain pending. No criminal activity is suspected.
