Sandburg excels at SWSC Conference Contest Play

Sandburg High School competed in the SWSC Conference tournament for Contest Play at Lincoln-Way East High School this past weekend.

The students presented a full play with two separate sets in under 40 minutes. The show they presented was “The Coarse Acting Show,” a hysterical comedy where a troupe of actors put on two plays where everything goes wrong including actors who cannot remember lines and collapsing sets.

The judges were very complimentary of the ensemble - both cast and crew - and awarded them one ranking of “Excellent” and one point shy of a “Superior” ranking for the tech work. And, Matthew Rohan was selected to all-conference cast.

The cast and crew will be preparing for sectionals this week.
