Shady Workers Offer To Seal Homeowner's Basement, Charge $4,500: REPORT

PALOS HILLS, IL -- Palos Hills residents called police after workers offered to seal their basement for $45, then demanded $4,500 when the job was completed, reports said.

Police were called to the 7900 block of West 111th Street around 8 a.m. May 23. The homeowners said a truck with the name “Father and Son” pulled up into their drive. The workers offered to seal their basement for $45. When the job was completed, the workers demanded $4,500 “in cash only.”

The homeowners felt they were being scammed and called police.
