Shepard to celebrate 40th anniversary with free dinner on April 16

To celebrate its 40th anniversary, Shepard High School staff members will host a dinner open to the community on Saturday, April 16.

Admission is free, but school officials request that people planning to attend call in advance so they know how much food to order.

Please call 708-371-1111, ext. 3500 to reserve seats by Monday, April 11. Dinner and entertainment will run from 7 to 10 p.m. in the new cafeteria. Shepard is located at 13049 S. Ridgeland Avenue in Palos Heights.

The event includes a free buffet dinner of pasta and pizza catered by Beggar’s and desserts catered by Eli’s Cheesecake. Entertainment will include the band “The Dancing Noodles.”

The first 100 people at the door will receive a commemorative bobblehead doll of Admiral Alan B. Shepard, who attended the building dedication in 1976.

Shepard will sponsor a split-the-pot fund raiser with proceeds split between the winner and the District 218 Educational Foundation, which raises money for college scholarships and teacher grants. The dress code is casual for the event.
