St. Alexander Students 'Brave the Shave' for St. Baldrick's
St. Alexander students raised $11,000 for pediatric cancer research by shaving their heads at a St. Baldrick's fundraiser.

Students from St. Alexander School in Palos Heights have cold heads but warm hearts after participating in the St. Baldrick’s fundraiser on March 14. Thirty students from the school Braved the Shave and raised more than $11,000 for kids with cancer. St. Alexander School was one of 60 schools that participated in the famous head-shaving fundraiser this year.
Fourth-grader Anna Hynek and Mary Sheerin, a fifth grader, led the way. Hynek donated 12 inches of her hair to Wigs 4 Kids before shaving the rest off. This was the second time Sheerin has had her head shaved.
