Stagg Basketball Coach resigns from coaching after 14 seasons
Daniels led the Chargers to a 310 - 240 record including two Regional Championships. He cited personal reasons for his decision

John Daniels, head basketball coach at Stagg High School, has resigned his coaching position after 14 years leading the Chargers. Stagg Principal Eric Olsen and Athletic Director Terry Treasure were notified of Daniels’ decision earlier this week.
Daniels led the Chargers to a 310 - 240 record during his 14 season tenure including two Regional Championships. He cited personal reasons for his decision to step down from the program.
“John is a quality person and a quality coach, he’s a coach's coach," said Treasure. "He has influenced the lives of many young men that have come through Stagg. The experiences he helped create for our athletes, students, alumni, staff and the entire community will be hard to duplicate. He should be proud of the program he has created.”
“It is difficult to accept a resignation from an individual who has had such a positive influence on student athletes and coaching staff,” remarked Olsen. “John has been a true example of Charger Pride and has instilled the values of character and service into the program.”
Stagg will begin its search for a replacement as soon as possible.
