Stagg HS DECA students advance to State competition

Club prepares students as leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in many business areas

Stagg High School Career Internship students from Mr. Duffy and Ms. Kuypers’ classes and other DECA club members participated in the Regional competition for DECA, a club that helps prepare students as leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in many business areas. The competition has a wide variety of business contests ranging from Accounting Applications to Marketing Management to Sports and Entertainment. Moraine Valley Community College hosted the event with over 15 different schools and over 350 students participating.

This year, nine students from Stagg finished in the top four in the individual events and qualified for the state competition. The state competition is held in Rosemont, IL on March 9 to 11. If any student places there, they are eligible to compete at Nationals, which this year are being held in Anaheim, CA.
