Stagg HS hosts Iron Charger Challenge

Students compete as individuals while also supporting one another as they worked toward their personal best

The Stagg High School Physical Education Department hosted the “Iron Charger Challenge.” The powerlifting event was funded by a grant that teachers received to showcase the achievement of their students in Strength and Conditioning. The powerlifting experience was open to students enrolled in Strength and Conditioning who have elected to work on a powerlifting program throughout the semester.

Students in various weight classes had the opportunity to compete against their peers in the squat, deadlift and bench press to highlight the personal gains they have made in their training. Students also took ownership in the operation of the event serving as judges, score table workers and spotters. The event was a great success where students had the opportunity to compete as individuals while also supporting one another as they worked toward their personal best.
