Stagg HS soccer hosts Lurie Children's Hospital/Mighty Maxine Night
Funds raised to support medical costs for 2-year-old heart transplant recipient & the hospital

On Tuesday, September 19, Stagg High School Soccer will host Lurie Children's Hospital/Mighty Maxine Night as the Chargers host Sandburg High School for a pair of boys' soccer matches.
The game is in honor of almost two-year-old Maxine, the daughter of special services teachers Melissa and Randy Zolk. Mighty Maxine was diagnosed with a combination of heart defects that include Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA), a Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), and Pulmonary Stenosis. At just one-day-old Maxine underwent her first surgery and her second surgery was at one-month old. In July 2016 she had open-heart surgery and in December 2016 she was admitted to Lurie’s Children Hospital as she developed Cardiomyopathy and went into severe heart failure. Maxine received a heart transplant in May 2017.
Stagg High School Soccer will raise funds to support Lurie Children’s Hospital and the Zolk family on September 19. The junior varsity game kicks off at 4:30 p.m. and Varsity begins at 6:15 p.m.
