Stagg HS uses team structure to support students
Presentation made at District 230 School Board meeting

Members of the Stagg High School Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) team shared with the District 230 School Board how the school is using a team structure to help students feel connected and access the supports and services they need to be successful.
Social Worker Hillary Ortiz, Dean Kristyn Koss and Guidance Counselor Rich Kowalczyk explained that each student is assigned to a team that includes social workers, deans and guidance counselors. Even before they officially become Stagg Chargers, middle school students know what team they are on as they prepare for the transition to high school. On their first day as freshmen, they meet with their teams to begin what will become and four-year team experience. They know from the start who they can rely on for assistance.
Throughout the school year, the support personnel meet with their teams during Period 2 Advisory classes and provide individual support.
