Stagg student codes Esteem Beam APP

Excels in Congressional APP Challenge

Stagg High School student Monica Para is runner-up in Representative Dan Lipinski's Congressional App Challenge. She created an Andriod app called Esteem Beam targeted at teenage girls and designed to raise their self-esteem, along with fellow Chase Internship coders Stephanie Kim (junior at New Trier), Shagun Varma (junior at Metea Valley), Rafiya Awan (senior at Lane Tech) and Maya Ostrowski (junior at Ridgewood High). The app sends notifications containing uplifting messages combating issues the user has specified she is struggling with. It's a great combination of Monica's interests in coding as a leader in both the Girls Who Code Club and the Girl Talk Club at Stagg.
