'Suspicious Noise' Turns Out To Be Burglar With Tire Iron: Cops

Worth man faces burglary charges after police find him walking around an apartment carrying a tire iron, prosecutor said.

PALOS HILLS, IL -- A Worth man was arrested after police caught him in an apartment with a tire iron, prosecutors said. Edward Olesky, 36, appeared before Cook County Judge John Mahoney on four felony charges of residential burglary.

Police responded to a call of a suspicious noise at an apartment building around 9:45 p.m. May 2. The property manager directed officers to an apartment unit. The prosecutor said that officers saw Olesky walking out of a bedroom with a tire iron.

Olesky allegedly admitted breaking into four units with a tire iron. It was later discovered that he had removed items from the units and damaged the property, the prosecutor said.

The judge released Olesky on a $10,000 I-bond. He’s due back in court May 31.
