'Unique' Tattoos Lead Police To Identity Theft Suspect: Cops
The man intercepted a check for $25,000 and opened a bank account in resident's name, Palos Heights police said.

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL — A Justice man is accused of intercepting a check and opening a fraudulent checking account in the resident’s name, Palos Heights police said. Darryl Weekly, 35, is charged with one felony count of identity theft.
On May 11, a resident who was expecting a check in the mail discovered an account opened in their name before realizing the check had been intercepted. Police learned that the stolen check, over $25,000, was later deposited into the fake account in the resident’s name at an ATM at a bank in Palos Heights.
After multiple search warrants for bank records, and video, police said Weekly was identified as a suspect, based on his vehicle registration and unique tattoos that matched Weekly as the registered vehicle owner, police said. Weekly is also said to have been captured on video. Cell phones also placed him at known locations, police said.
