Twitter User Threatens To Shoot Moraine Valley Students: Cops

Twitter user complains about being bullied and names specific students. MVCC campus police are investigating.

PALOS HILLS, IL -- Moraine Valley Community College students and parents flooded campus police with calls Sunday evening, expressing concern over a threatening message posted on Twitter. The message made references to being bullied and tagged several Moraine Valley students. The cryptic Tweet also included a photo of an assault rifle.

A screenshot of the threatening message by user named “MoraineValleydies” read:

“You and your friends bullied me!!! I can’t wait to kill all of you tomorrow!!! You took away my soul I’m taking you guys lives! Me and my AR.”

MVCC student Shawnee Masters replied to the user:

“Okay whoever did this this is a serious issue. You don’t joke about these things and if you do you’re sick. If you go to moraine take this into consideration while at school tomorrow even if whoever this is isn’t forreal dont take these things lightly.”

The parent who sent Patch the screenshot said that her daughter and her daughter’s friend are MVCC students. Both are afraid to go to school Monday. The account that initially tweeted the post is no longer active, but apparently students tagged in the Tweet attend Moraine Valley. The conversation picks up on another thread, where other Tweets reference the MoraineValleydies Twitter account being shut down. "Even Twitter is bullying me tonight," the user said.

A screenshot of the Tweet was also posted on Snapchat.
