U.S. Ambassador Presents Lecture At Trinity Christian College

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL — Trinity Christian College welcomes the U.S. ambassador to the Republic of Nigeria for a public lecture from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct, 17. The free lecture will be in Fusion 59, Trinity’s incubator located in the Huizenga Memorial Library, 6601 W. College Drive, Palos Heights.

U.S. Ambassador Eric Whitaker is a career member of the U.S. Senior Foreign Service with 27 years of experience. He was appointed in 2017 to his current post. Whitaker’s previous roles include serving as Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary with East African Affairs, Sudan, and South Sudan, and Director of East African Affairs.

Ambassador Whitaker speaks Portuguese, Spanish, French, Visayan, and Korean, and has received eleven Meritorious and Superior Honor Awards, as well as the Department of Defense Meritorious Civilian Honor Award. He has a BS in biology and an MS in community health education from the University of Illinois, a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Master of Public Policy degree from the Wilson School at Princeton University.
