UPS Employee's Shorts Set Off Metal Detector: Prosecutors
Samsung Galaxy cell phone fell out of man's shorts when confronted by security, prosecutors said.

An employee at the Hodgkins UPS distribution center was charged with theft after his shorts kept setting off the metal detector, prosecutors said.
According to the charges, Kalvin Butler, 19, was leaving the distribution center around 8:14 p.m. Sept. 16. A security officer used a handheld wand which continued to go off near the front of Butler’s shorts.
Prosecutors said that a Samsung Galaxy phone fell out of Butler’s shorts. Butler allegedly admitted to seeing an open box of 10 phones and grabbing two of them valued at $1,390.

The public defender told the judge that Butler had been employed by UPS for two months.
The judge released Butler on a $10,000 I-bond.
