Winter Storm: Palos School Closings, Cancellations

PALOS, IL -- Looks like it’s shaping up to be a snow day Friday, Feb. 9. Up to 14 inches of snow are expected to blanket the Chicago region during the overnight hours of Thursday and well into Friday, with more snow expected over the weekend. In total, the area could see up to 20 inches of snow by Sunday. Patch will keep updating the closings, so check back throughout the evening to see if you or your kids have a day off from school and work on Friday.

The following Palos-area schools, institutions and businesses will be closed on Feb. 9:

Fox College (Bedford Park)

Moraine Valley Community College classes canceled Friday, Feb. 9. Fitness center open. Classes will be in session Saturday, Feb. 10.

Businesses/Institutions

Palos Park refuse collection is canceled for Friday, Feb. 9, but will resume Saturday, Feb. 10.

Palos Heights Public Library

Little Company of Mary Hospital is rescheduling elective/pre-scheduled surgeries and procedures. Please consult with your healthcare professional.
