Woman Finds Trespasser Sitting at Her Kitchen Table: Blotter

DUI

Brian Hines, 53, of Palos Hills, was arrested and charged him with driving under the influence, driving with a revoked license, fleeing and eluding and driving without insurance after a Feb. 14 traffic stop, according to Palos Hills police reports.

Police noticed Hines at about midnight speeding southbound on Roberts Road, the report stated. Hines refused to stop for police and ran a red light at 99th Street, the report added. He eventually stopped but then took off again when police tried to talk to him, according to the report.

Finally, police followed Hines home and apprehended him there, the report stated. While talking to him in his driveway, police reported smelling a strong odor of alcohol on Hines’ breath and noticing his eyes were red.

Hines’s court date is March 31.

FEB. 12

Harassment by Text

Joseph Brewer, 23, of Justice, was arrested and charged him with harassment by telephone in connection with claims he sent threatening texts to someone, according to Palos Hills police reports.

A resident contacted police Feb. 11 after he claimed Brewer texted him that if he saw him the victim, Brewer would shoot him, the report stated. Police took Brewer in to custody at around 2:20 a.m. Feb. 12, the report added.

Brewer’s court date is March 13.

Criminal Trespass

Jeremy Batzel, 24, of Burbank, was arrested and charged with criminal trespass to residence after a Feb. 12 incident, according to Palos Hills police reports.

A resident in the area of Cour Deauville told police she found Baztel in her home around midnight, sitting at her kitchen table. The victim claimed Baztel entered her house without her knowledge, the report stated.
