Woman Spits Out Baggie of Cocaine Violating Order of Protection: Police

Order of protection prohibited woman from entering her home while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, prosecutors said.

A Crestwood woman was arrested for possession of a controlled substance when she violated an order of protection prohibiting her from being around family members while under the influence of alcohol and drugs, prosecutors said.

According to the charges, Katrina Sewerynow, 35, was issued an order of protection prohibiting her from being in the residence that she shares with her mother and children while under the influence.

Prosecutors said household members called police on Sept. 30 to the 5400 block of West 138th Street when Sewerynow appeared intoxicated when she entered the residence.

The assistant public defender told the judge that Sewerynow was permitted to be in the home as long as she wasn’t high on alcohol or substances.

Sewerynow was released on a $25,000 I-bond and was put on electronic home monitoring. She was also ordered to submit to random drug testing and has to get into a drug and alcohol addiction program.

“This is your last stop,” Cook County Associate Judge John Hynes said.

Sewerynow is due back in court on Oct. 21.
