Active shooter awareness hot topic of Park Ridge Chamber luncheon

Would you know what to do should you find yourself in the midst of violence?

Park Ridge Officer Ben Peterson taught Park Ridge Chamber members and guests how to prepare for violence should an active shooter be present at the workplace during the Park Ridge Chamber’s Monthly Networking Luncheon on August 8. Using the ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) program, attendees were provided with the guidance and tools needed to help keep his or her organization stay safe through careful planning, quick acting, and recovery. One tip to remember is to always try to evacuate if possible!

Twisted Trunk Catering provided a mouthwatering Italian buffet which included bruschetta, meatballs, marinara and vodka cream sauce pasta, caprese salad, and garlic rolls. Attendees mingled with one another throughout the afternoon and even won a few raffle prizes!
