Eat, Drink & Be Charitable on October 13

The Junior Board of Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Il is hosting their third annual Eat, Drink & Be Charitable event on Saturday, October 13. Stop by Moretti’s Ristorante and Pizzeria in Chicago between 6:30 and 9:30 pm to enjoy dinner, drinks, and participate in the event’s wine pull.

Each year the event raises funds for one of Advocate Lutheran General Hospital’s programs or centers. This year’s proceeds will go to the Adult Down Syndrome Center located on the Park Ridge campus. Past program recipients include the Cancer Survivorship Center, the Midwest Children’s Brain Tumor Center and the
Children’s Health Resource Center.

“The Adult Down Syndrome Center has been providing high quality care for decades and we are looking forward to raising funds to help them continue their great work and expand their efforts,” said Christy Santos, director of development for the Advocate Charitable Foundation at Lutheran General Hospital.

Since it opened in 1992, the Center has grown into a robust resource for individuals living with Down syndrome, their families, and caregivers. The Adult Down Syndrome Center offers Zumba classes, a music group, nature club, social skills groups, support groups for families and caregivers, and educational videos featuring individuals with Down syndrome. Through philanthropic efforts the Center can continue to grow and provide more resources to those they serve.

“We are looking forward to bringing a fun-filled event that supports the Adult Down Syndrome Center to the community,” said Santos.
