It’s Beginning to Look Like Constitution Week

Members of the Twenty-first Star Chapter DAR Constitution Week Committee have been to marking the signing of the Constitution.

Members of the Twenty-first Star Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution’s Constitution Week Committee have been obtaining proclamations, installing displays, and distributing posters to mark the 230th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution. The annual observance of Constitution Week was established by Public Law 915 on August 2, 1956, and begins on the day the Constitution was signed in 1787. Constitution Week provides the perfect opportunity for studying the Constitution of the United States of America and reflecting on the heritage of freedom that it provides.

The Twenty-first Star Chapter serves the Park Ridge, Niles, Des Plaines, and Morton Grove areas. Any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal decent from a patriot of the American Revolution, is eligible for membership. The DAR recognizes "Patriots: as not only soldiers but also anyone who contributed to the cause of American freedom." If interested in learning more about the Daughters of the American Revolution or attending one of our meetings, please contact Dorothy Wilson at (847) 328-6946 for further details.
