Kelly Schaefer is Appointed Trustee for Maine Township

A Park Ridge community leader is sworn in as the newest Trustee for Maine Township.

Kelly Schaefer of Park Ridge is the newest Trustee on the Maine
Township Board. She was appointed and sworn in by Clerk Gary K. Warner
during a regular Board meeting on Aug. 23 to fill the remaining term of
Walter Kazmierczak who was earlier this month appointed as the Highway
Commissioner. Her term will expire with the April, 2017 elections. The
former Highway Commissioner resigned to retire after decades in public
service in various Township positions.

Schaefer is a Customer Service Representative for Delta Airlines. She
has been active in her community by serving in volunteer positions with
the Park Ridge Park District, High School District 207, and several
Dist. 64 PTOs where she held leadership roles. She was also a leader in
Brownie Troop 44. She has a degree from the University of
Wisconsin/Green Bay in Public Relations and Business Management.

“We welcome Kelly as our new Trustee and look forward to her bringing
a wealth of local knowledge and civic involvement to Maine Township
government,” said Supervisor Carol A. Teschky. The township has four
Trustees who serve. The others are Kimberly Jones, Peter Gialamas and
Laura Morask.
