Lutheran General Ranked Ninth in Number of Primary Care Graduates
Lutheran General Hospital's medical program was ranked ninth in the nation in the number of primary care graduates it produces in a recent study.

Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge was ranked ninth in the nation for the number of primary care graduates its produces each year, the Peoria Journal-Star reports. It was the top-ranked number for the graduates in the state, according a a study in the medical journal, Academic Medicine. Only two other Illinois Institutions ranked in the top 15 in the study - the University of Illinois College of Medicine, which ranked 11th, and the Southern Illinois University College of Medicine in Springfield, which ranked 13th.
The study ranked 161 institutions sponsoring graduate medical education. The rankings, which will appear in the journal's September issue, were based on the rate of residency graduates who entered primary care compared with total number of residency graduates.
