May is Older Americans Month so what better way to celebrate then with a big party!

The 15th Annual 90-Plus Birthday Celebration hosted 125 participants plus friends and family members on May 25. The event hosted by Maine Township’s MaineStreamers senior division provided a way to celebrate the lives of those 90 years old or older with flowers, photos, entertainment and a nice lunch at Chateau Ritz in Niles.

The entertainment was provided by children from A Mother’s Touch Kindergarten Class from Des Plaines. Each participant was presented with a flower upon arrival and had his/her photo taken with Supervisor Carol A. Teschky. Later, participants enjoyed lunch with birthday cake and ice cream. Summit of Uptown Retirement Community and Assisted Living of Park Ridge sponsored the flowers and cake.

The oldest participants were 102 and 101 years old. There were also three who were 100.
