Maine Township Food Pantry Receives $5000 from Countryside

Thanks to the generous owner and patrons of Countryside Saloon, the Maine Township food pantry has received a total of $17,000.

Countryside Makes Another Generous Donation

Over the past four years, Countryside Saloon in unincorporated Maine Township has raised about $17,000 for the Maine Township Food Pantry during the NFL season. For Chicago Bears home games, Countryside auctions off a Bears jersey. The money raised is donated.

This year a check for $5,000 was presented by Owner Janet Bar, second from the left, to Supervisor Carol Teschky, second from the right. Food Pantry Coordinator Carol Langan, left, and Countryside Fundraising Coordinator Joyce Solvig, right, were on hand for the presentation.

Teschky said, “thanks to the generous donations of people such as those at Countryside, the food pantry operation continues to serve our area’s needy year around.”
