Man, 19, Charged With Felony DUI After Crash
He crashed his vehicle into a tree Dec. 22, and two passengers were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Park Ridge Police officers from the Major Crash Unit completed their investigation into a motor vehicle crash which occurred on December 22, 2012. The crash occurred at 3:17 am near Cedar Street and Wisner Street. According to police, responding officers determined that a car had lost control and struck a tree in that area. Two passengers were transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
The major crash unit presented their findings to the Cook County State’s Attorney's Office, which approved charges against the driver, Colin P. Garvey, 19, of Park Ridge. The following charges were approved: Two Counts of Aggravated Driving Under the Influence- Alcohol (Class 4 Felony) One Count of Driving Under the Influence- Alcohol (Class A Misdemeanor) One Count Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident One Count No Proof of Insurance The initial court date is March 20, 2013.
