Park Ridge Blotter: FedEx Package 'Blown' Up

Attempted baby formula theft
Two women broke into a locked case containing baby formula in a store in the 800 block of Devon Avenue on Nov. 20. According to the report, one of the woman put the baby formula in her purse, but was later approached by an employee. The subject then ditched her purse and ran out the store, the report stated. No arrests were made.
Attempted burglary

Police responded to a burglary in the 1400 block of Touhy Avenue on Nov. 16. According to the report, the suspect(s) damaged the glass of a door and attempted to gain entry, but failed. No items were reported missing.
Stolen GPS

A GPS device was reported stolen from a car parked in the 200 block of Seminary Avenue on Nov. 17.
Graffiti
Unknown offender(s) spray painted a park sign in the 800 block of Glenlake Park on Nov. 19.
Shattered glass
An unknown person(s) shattered a glass panel in the 1900 block of Courtland Avenue on Nov. 18.
Anti Christmas
Someone cut the lines to some Christmas lights hanging outside a home in the 2200 block of Glenview Road on Nov. 20.
Stinky fire
A plastic garbage can was lit on fire in the 1200 block of Dee Road on Nov. 20.
Vandalism
A gas lamp was damaged in the 600 block of Florence Avenue on Nov. 21.
Blown package
Police responded to a criminal damage complaint in the 600 block of Ottawa Avenue on Nov. 21. According to the report, the suspect(s) used unknown means to blow apart a FedEx package.
Police said they believe a firecracker was attached to the package after it was delivered.
Ransacked vehicle
A car parked in the 200 block of Seminary Avenue was ransacked on Nov. 18. No items were reported missing, however.
Stolen bike
A bicycle was reported stolen from the 200 block of Seminary Avenue on Nov. 18. The bike was left unattended in the backyard, the report stated.
Stolen package
A package was reported stolen from the 400 block of Meacham Road on Nov. 16.
Stolen wallet
A woman reported her wallet stolen after dining at a restaurant in the 500 block of Busse Road on Nov. 19.

Another woman reported her wallet stolen after dining at a restaurant in the 100 block of Northwest Highway on Nov. 21. According to the report, the woman's purse was hanging on the back of a chair.

A woman reported her wallet stolen from her workplace in the 1700 block of Dempster Street on Nov. 21.
