Park Ridge Blotter: Playground Arson

The following arrest information was supplied by the Park Ridge Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Arson

Police responded to an arson complaint in the 2700 block of Sibley Park on Nov. 5. According to the report, an unknown person(s) attempted to burn some playground equipment. The fire left minimal damage to a Plexiglas window.  

Attempted burglary

Police responded to burglary in the 100 block of Talcott Avenue on Nov. 3. According to the report, the offender(s) tried prying open a screen door but failed. No items were reported missing.

Ruse burglary

Two unknown men approached a home in the 1300 block of Western Avenue and said they had just purchased a neighboring home. They soon entered the house and asked for a glass of water, the report stated. While the victim went to get the water, one of the individuals went into a bedroom and removed an unknown amount of cash and cufflinks.

The suspects were described as two white males, about 30 to 40-years-of-age. One suspect was described as tall, wearing gloves and sunglasses while the second was described as being short with dark hair, mustache and also wearing gloves, according to the report.

Restaurant burglary

Police responded to burglary in the 500 block of Busse Highway on Nov. 5. According to the report, the offender(s) tried opening a safe inside a restaurant but was unsuccessful. No items were reported missing.

Garage burglary

Police responded to a burglary in the 1200 block of Prospect Road on Nov. 7. According to the report, a set of golf clubs were missing from the garage.

Ransacked

A home in the 1000 block of Lois Avenue was burglarized on Nov. 8. According to the report, the home was ransacked and an unknown amount of cash was taken.

Theft from auto

A car parked in the 100 block of Lincoln Avenue was burglarized on Nov. 8. According to the report, multiple tools were taken from the vehicle.

Bush damage

Several bushes were damaged outside a home in the 700 block of Western Avenue on Nov. 3.
