Park Ridge Police Blotter: Spray Painting Vandals and More

Car Burglary

Someone entered a garage in the 1500 block of Courtland Avenue between 10 p.m. May 28 and 9 a.m. May 29. A 2007 Nissan Murano was burglarized. A cell phone charger and GPS unit were removed.

A 2012 Ford Escape was headed east from Washington Street onto Summit Avenue May 25 between 9:45 p.m. and 10 p.m. when someone threw a rock at the car and dented the front passenger side door.

A 1996 Ford van had its driver's side mirror damaged and the driver's side front tire cut in the 800 block of Devon Avenue sometime between 7 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. May 25.

Someone threw a large, decorative stone through the rear window of a 1995 Toyota Camry in the 800 block of S. Western Street sometime between midnight and 4 a.m. on May 27.

Someone threw a landscaping stone at the front driver's side window of a 1992 Ford Explorer in the 300 block of S. Lincoln Avenue sometime between 2 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. May 27.

Vandalism

A beer bottle was thrown at the front window of a home in the 600 block of Sylviawood Avenue sometime between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. May 27.

The wires were cut to the fire pull box in an apartment building in the 300 block of Touhy Avenue at 11:26 p.m. May 27.

A fire extinguisher was discharged in the stairwell of an apartment building in the first block of N. Northwest Highway and the chemicals were sucked into the ventilation system, damaging the filters and fire alarm system.

The fence of a home in the 1800 block of Glenview Avenue was spray painted.

The cement wall near the entrance of an underground parking area was spray painted in the 1800 block of W. Oakton Street sometime between 10 p.m. May 27 and 6 a.m. May 28.

A fence in the 1800 block of Woodland Avenue was spray painted.

Someone spray painted stop signs at the intersections of Hamlin Avenue and Glenview Avenue, Woodland Avenue and Hamlin Avenue, Greendale Avenue and Hamlin Avenue and a posted speed limit sign at 1820 Oakton Street.

Street signs at Dee Road and Habberton Avenue were spray painted.

The corner of a building was spray painted at 1900 W. Oakton Street sometime between 10 a.m. May 28 and 8 a.m. May 29.

Someone used a black marker to write on the back of a speed trailer in the 2100 block of Manor Street sometime between 3:30 p.m. May 29 and 2:30 p.m. May 30.
