Park Ridge Police Blotter: Bike Thief Caught, Battery Arrest and More

Bicycle Thief Caught

Roberto J. Rich, 27, of Chicago was charged with theft July 10. Police investigated a bicycle theft from a home in the 100 block of Yost Avenue and checked with a local pawn shop. They found the bike that had been taken and traced it to Rich. Rich was charged with felony theft because the bike was valued at more than $500.

Six juveniles aged 15 to 17 were charged with curfew violations after an incident July 12 at 12:19 a.m. Police issued the citations after receiving complaints about a bonfire at Woodland Park, 1200 N. Western Ave.

Battery

Brittany McKay, 26, of Glenview, was charged with battery July 11. Police said McKay spit at and scratched a security guard while a patient at Lutheran General Hospital.

Car Burglary

A 2008 Toyota Camry was burglarized in the 700 block of Austin Street sometime between July 6 at 9:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. July 7. Taken from the unlocked vehicle was an iPod Touch, a camera and a GPS unit.

Vandalism

Someone threw a rock at a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix in the 100 block of Devon Street at 10:16 p.m. July 15. The cars rear passenger side quarter window was damaged.

Four "Prospect" street signs were removed from their cement posts at an unknown location, damaged the signs and left them on the lawn of a residence in the 300 block of Edgemont Lane.
