Park Ridge Store Robbed at Gunpoint

A convenience store in the 900 block of Northwest Highway was robbed Friday morning at gunpoint.

Park Ridge police are searching for a man who robbed a convenience store early Friday after brandishing a handgun.

Police said the incident happened at 3:25 a.m. The suspect was described as a black male, five foot six inches tall with a thin build. The individual was wearing a black knit cap, black sweater and dark glasses.

The man displayed a hand gun, told the cashier to give him all the money, and left on foot heading west on Oakton Street.

The Park-Ridge Herald Advocate reported that the store was a 7-11 and that the individual stole about $200.
