Pine's Menswear Closes
The longest standing business in the Uptown area of Park Ridge closed this month. Pine's may reopen in a small spot in town.

Pine’s, the longest running store in the Uptown area of Park Ridge, closed its doors this month, the Park Ridge Sun-Times reports. The business, at 43 S. Prospect, opened in 1952. Monday, it was vacant, with a for rent sign out front.
Owner David Iglow was reportedly looking for a smaller spot either in Park Ridge, or just outside, to relocate his business after the economy took its toll on Pine’s.
Iglow started working at the business in1976. He bought the business in 1992. The ownership of the store goes all the way back to the Goldblatt’s family.

In November, during the store’s 60th anniversary, Iglow said that the more casual atmosphere in today’s world had been impacting his store, which sold suits and more professional attire. He said to keep going, the business had to emphasize quality and service.
