Program Offered on How to Handle Difficult Conversations with Aging Parents at Summit

In its continuing series of educational programs, The Summit of Uptown presents a range of topics and interests.

Learn how to handle difficult conversations with
aging parents at March 19 Summit program

“How to Handle Difficult Conversations with Your Aging Parents,” will be presented at The Summit of Uptown, 10 N. Summit (at Touhy) in Park Ridge Thursday, March 19, at from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Reservations for the free programs are required by Monday, March 16, and may be made by calling 847-825-1161 x129. Light refreshments will be served.

“Talking to aging parents can be difficult especially where the subject is emotionally loaded,” said Dyanne Bresler, a board certified nurse and licensed clinical professional counselor with Park Ridge Psychological Services, who will facilitate the program. The program will cover a wide variety of topics that family members and caregivers must be ready to discuss, according to Bresler. Among them are driving, moving and legal documents. “The process is as important as the content and we’ll be examining some ways to make it easier,” said Bresler.

“How to Handle Difficult Conversations with Your Aging Parents,” is just one example of the variety of programs and activities presented by The Summit of Uptown. Parking is available in the Uptown City garage across the street.
