Special August 27 breakfast at Summit to honor veterans

Veterans and their spouses are invited to a special breakfast Saturday, Aug. 27, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Summit of Uptown, Park Ridge.

Veterans and their spouses are invited to a special breakfast Saturday, Aug. 27, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Summit of Uptown, 10 N. Summit, Park Ridge. Free and open to all veterans in the community and their spouses, the breakfast will provide a venue where vets can share stories, memories and history with fellow comrades-in-arms. Don Heckwine, a Marine veteran who is with Gleason, Heckwine, Syring & Associates, will be on hand to outline benefits that could be available from the Department of Veterans Affairs. Heckwine helps veterans learn more about aid that is available to them, program qualifications and the application process.
