The Summit Hosts Free Holiday Festivities
The Summit of Uptown welcomes all community members to its free holiday festivities. Come and vote for your favorite tree too.

Area children deck the halls at The Summit of Uptown for free holiday festivities
If you’re looking for an inexpensive way to get into the holiday spirit, mark your calendar for three free programs in December at The Summit of Uptown, 10 N. Summit (at Touhy) in Park Ridge They include the Edgebrook Lutheran Church Bell Choir on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 3 p.m. the Des Plaines Harmonaires who will sing holiday songs on Thursday, Dec. 11 at 1:30 p.m. and the First United Methodist Church of Park Ridge Choir on Sunday, Dec. 14, at 3:30 p.m. Reservations are recommended and may be made at 847-825-1161, ext 129.
While you are enjoying the programs, you will be able to enjoy the array of 14 trees that have been decorated by children from area schools and organizations for the tree decorating contest that will be part of the annual Christmas Open House festivities Saturday, Dec. 13, from 9 to 11 a.m. The entire community is invited to vote from Dec. 13 to New Year’s Day for their favorite tree as they enjoy a bountiful breakfast buffet with Santa Claus at the event along with family and friends.
Groups that are decorating trees include Queen of All Saints Cub Scout Pack 3942, St Paul of the Cross Girl Scout troop 40651, Roosevelt School 4th Grade, Washington School Junior Girl Scout Troop 41630, Field School Girl Scout Troop 41631, St Juliana Cub Scout Pack 3965, Washington School Junior Girl Scouts 4037, Emerson Middle School Seventh and Eighth Grade Chorus, Mary Seat of Wisdom Girl Scout troop 4167, St Paul of the Cross Fourth Grade, St Monica Kindergarten Brownies and Seventh Grade Girl Scouts, Carpenter School Third Grade, and Park Ridge Park District POM Squad and Holiday Showcase. The winning group will receive a pizza party complements of The Summit of Uptown.

Admission to Breakfast with Santa is $12.50 for adults and children 8 and up, $10 for adults and children 8 and up who are family members of Summit residents, and $6 for all children ages 4 through 7. For reservations, call 847-825-1161, ext 129, by Wednesday, Dec. 10. Seating is limited. Guests are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the local food pantry.
These programs are just some of examples of the variety of programs and activities open to the community that are planned for the holiday season. Parking is always available in the Uptown City garage across the street.
