WIP Training Center Fall Program Descriptions

Musical Theatre Performance Based
Class Mondays 4:45pm-6:45pm
Tuition: $225 by September 2nd; $250 After September 2nd
Class Size: Minimum 6; Max 15
Ages: 8-12
This program is designed for the student who loves Musical Theatre and has taken programs either at The WIP Theater or at another Theatre Program. Students will learn through rehearsing numbers for a final set of showcases to be performed the final weekend of the session. If your child has a passion to sing, dance and act this most certainly is the class for them!

Teen Performance Based
Ckass Mondays 6:45pm-8:45pm

From Shakespeare to Broadway, this program is designed for students ages 13 thru 18 years old. Students will immerse themselves into becoming characters, creating environments, working with others, acting, singing, dancing, improv and so much more. This program will end with a set of performances at the end of the session.
Make Your Own Movie Class
Class Tuesdays 5pm-6:30pm
Tuition: $225 by September 2nd; $250 After September 2nd
Class Size: Minimum 6; Max 15
Ages: 8 and Up
Students will come up with their own Movie Musical/Play with assistance from the instructors. They will then film their very own movie and work through the entire process of producing a film. There will be a special showing of the student’s film during the Performance Weekend in December. Each student will receive a copy of their film.
Rising Stars
Class Wednesdays 4:30pm-5:30pm
Tuition: $175 by September 2nd; $200 After September 2nd
Class Size: Minimum 6; Max 15
Ages 4-6
This program is designed as an introductory theatre class for ages 3-5 years old. Through theatre games, acting exercises, singing and dancing students will get good exposure to the performing arts world. This is a drop off class. Early participation in drama develops confidence, speaking skills, and serves as a wonderful introduction to acting and begins a life-long enjoyment of creative arts. This program will end with a recital at the conclusion of the session.
Acting Performance Based
Class Thursdays 5pm-6:30pm
Tuition: $225 by September 2nd; $250 After September 2nd
Class Size: Minimum 6; Max 15
Ages: 8-12
This program is designed for the young actor looking to learn more acting techniques while being part of a one act play. Through auditioning and rehearsals (weekly class) Students will learn key acting skills not only for the stage but that they can apply in every day life. This program will end in a set of performances at the end of the session
The Professional Approach for Young Actors
Class Fridays 4:30pm-5:30pm
Tuition $500 NO DISCOUNTS
Ages 5-18
Minimum 2; Max 10
For the student who is extremely passionate and dedicated to working in the film/theatre industry. Through coaching from area professionals, each student will receive audition materials tailored to them to be able to use for Professional Work in the Theatre and Film Community. Instructors will also work with students building and creating resumes. Professional Quality Headshots will be taken and 3 printed copies will be provided. At the end of the class students will have their materials sent out to three Talent Agents. *Students in this program will receive complimentary private coaching for any auditions they may receive. For Ages 4 thru 18.
Mixed Performance Based Class
Saturdays 1pm-3pm
Tuition: $225 by September 2nd; $250 After September 2nd
Class Size: Minimum 6; Max 15
Ages 6-12
Does your child love Acting? Singing? Dancing? Improv? If you answered yes to any of these questions this program will be great for children just starting out or continuing in theatre. Through rehearsals, theatre games and lessons students will learn the basics of theatre and how to be part of a show. Students will get a taste of all areas of theatre to help them decide what they like most. This program will end with a set of performances at the end of the session.
Sketch Comedy Class
Saturdays 3:30pm-5:30pm
Tuition: $225 by September 2nd; $250 After September 2nd
Class Size: Minimum 6; Max 15
Ages 6-12
THE ALL STAR PLAYERS (PERFORMANCE BASED CLASS)
Students will immerse themselves in the world of sketch comedy and theater. Get a flavor of acting, writing, singing, and movement! Treated as members of a cast, students will learn team building exercises and how to generate strong characters, scenes, and musical numbers through improvisation and pitching at round table discussions.
Our ending result will be a fully developed SNL style sketch show with full props, costumes, lights, and sound. A live piano will accompany the rehearsals and show.
Instructor is a graduate of Second City’s professional Conservatory, and an alum of the iO Chicago Training Center.
Ages: 12+ (Staff approval for younger students)
Pre Requisites: Performance Based 1, Main Stage, Improv 1, or equivalent experience. (Staff approval for first time students.)
