• Former Decatur man gets 42 years in prison for indecent solicitation of child (fordcountychronicle.com) — Paxton readers should know that a former Decatur man has been sentenced in Ford County Circuit Court to 42 years in prison after an undercover Paxton police officer posed online as a minor. Prosecutors say the local decoy operation not only secured this conviction but also triggered dozens of additional felony charges against the defendant in Macon County. 
• Paxton Swedes earn sweep at Arcola (fordcountychronicle.com) — Paxton baseball fans can celebrate as the Swedes swept a road doubleheader at Arcola and now return home to host rival Buckley Dutchmasters next Sunday. The shorthanded squad still delivered strong hitting, standout pitching from Gavin Schunke, and even a rare father-son appearance, keeping Paxton in the chase near the top of the Eastern Illinois League.
