• Gold Star families honored at Peoria commemoration (centralillinoisproud.com) — Pekin residents were represented at Peoria’s Gold Star commemoration through the Pekin High School JROTC, which performed the solemn Missing Man Ceremony honoring fallen service members. The event brought together Central Illinois families, veterans, and sponsors to share stories, present yellow roses by service branch, and support those who have lost loved ones in military service.
