Peoria ceremony celebrates 87 new U.S. citizens (centralillinoisproud.com) — Peoria residents saw 87 of their neighbors from 32 countries become new U.S. citizens during a moving ceremony at the Peoria Public Library. Families, friends, and local civic leaders celebrated as participants took the oath of allegiance, then many registered to vote and reflected on making Peoria and the United States their permanent home.
