• Continuing Care Beyond the Shelter Season (shawlocal.com) — IV PADS is keeping support going for people experiencing homelessness even after the overnight shelter season ends, including services at Peru PADS and Lily PADS Peru. Through summer, they’ll offer daytime space, basic necessities, outreach, and facility improvements while preparing to reopen overnight shelters August 1, and they’re inviting local residents to get involved or donate.
   

• Macomb, Other Central Illinois Hy-Vee Stores Supporting Veterans (communitynewsmarket.com) — Peru’s Hy-Vee is joining several central Illinois stores to raise money now through November for the Greater Peoria Honor Flight, which will fly about 75 local veterans to Washington, D.C. on Nov. 17. Shoppers can donate at checkout, buy $10 fundraising cards, or choose select items whose proceeds support the trip.
