• St. Bede baseball, softball beat Putnam County: Monday's NewsTribune roundup (shawlocal.com) — Local fans saw plenty of action as St. Bede baseball and softball earned Tri-County Conference wins in Peru, while La Salle-Peru teams turned in strong efforts across baseball, track, and soccer. The L-P girls track squad captured the Illinois Valley Meet title, and the boys finished second, highlighting a busy day for area high school athletes.
