• Charles O ‘Charlie' Pirtle (journalreview.com) — Longtime Petersburg resident Charles “Charlie” Pirtle, 90, passed away May 27 at Mason City Area Nursing Home, leaving behind a large family and many local friends. Known for his work in agriculture and trucking and his love of the outdoors, he requested no services. Memorial contributions may be made to the North Montgomery or Southmont FFA chapters.
