17 D202 High School Musicians Selected For Annual ILMEA Event

PLAINFIELD, IL — Seventeen Plainfield School District 202 high school musicians have been selected to perform in upcoming all-state student programs for the Illinois Music Educators Association.

The students from Plainfield Central, East and North high schools were selected for the prestigious event following virtual auditions last fall. Between Jan. 26 through Jan. 29, musicians will perform in band, chorus, jazz and orchestra concerts in Peoria.

The following District 202 students were selected to participate.

Plainfield Central High School

• Lucas Forbear, senior, bass trombone — Jazz band
• Will Snydersmith, senior, third place — Composition contest
• Kaelyn Witt, senior — Future music educator symposium

Plainfield North High School

• Blake Barnickel, senior, tenor II — All-state honors vocal jazz
• Joey Bonasera, junior, bass 1 — All-state choir
• Emma Rizzo, junior, alto 2 — All-state honors choir
• Ella Schuler, sophomore, soprano 2 — All-state honors choir
• Sara Przybylski, senior, clarinet — Band

Plainfield East High School
