PLAINFIELD, IL — Three people were arrested Tuesday evening in connection to two vehicle thefts out of Joliet, Plainfield police said.

Police made the first arrest around 3:40 p.m. after conducting a traffic stop near Route 59 and Naperville Road on a blue Cadillac sedan that had been reported stolen, Sergeant Luke Ostreko told Patch. Plainfield officers charged 32-year-old Anthony Edwards, of the 700 block of North Center Street in Joliet, with possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of burglary tools and driving while license revoked.

Edwards was given a notice to appear on the charges but was taken to the Will County jail on two active no-bond warrants. Edwards' passenger, 42-year-old Angela Sepeda, of the 600 block of Madison Street in Joliet, was also brought to the jail on an active no-bond warrant.

While some officers were making the arrest, the department's dispatch center was alerted about a man who fled from a stolen black Cadillac sedan on foot, leaving the car in the middle of Route 59, just north of 127th Street, Ostreko said.

Plainfield police posted an alert around 5:45 p.m. Tuesday to ask for the community's help locating the suspect who had last been seen entering a cornfield near 127th Street and Book Road, after a search using drones and a K-9 unit from the Naperville Police Department was fruitless, Patch reported.
