2 Elementary School Assistant Principals Hired In District 202

PLAINFIELD, IL — Two new elementary school assistant principals have been assigned their roles in Plainfield School District 202. Jennifer Pichler-Schill and Jennifer Gawla were approved by the Board of Education at its regular meeting July 25.

Starting in the upcoming school year, Pichler-Schill will be the new assistant principal at Freedom Elementary School, while Gawla is River View Elementary School's new assistant principal. Pichler-Schill is replacing Kristi Hillmer, who is switching schools to work at Walker's Grove Elementary School. Gawla is taking over from Stacia Mallory, who will begin working at Crystal Lawns Elementary School, officials said.

With a 25-year career in education, Pichler-Schill has previously worked as a coach, a sponsor, a mentor, and a general education teacher in Highland, Indiana, where she began her career in 1997.

Gawla also has almost two decades of education experience under her belt. She began her career in 2004 working as a teacher assistant at Columbia Explorer's Academy in Chicago. She has also served as a tutor, student teacher, mentor and coordinator, child supervisor, track coach and athletic director at various districts throughout her career.
