2 Extricated After Plainfield Rollover Crash
The vehicle struck a fire hydrant and went into a bean field near Heggs Road and 127th Street.

PLAINFIELD, IL – Two people were extricated from a vehicle after a rollover crash early Tuesday morning in Plainfield. Officials said a Lexus was involved in a single-vehicle crash at around 3:15 a.m. on northbound Heggs Road north of 127th Street. Two people, a male and female, were extricated from the vehicle and transported to Rush-Copley Hospital, according to the Plainfield Fire Protection District.
Plainfield Deputy Fire Chief Jon Stratton said the vehicle struck a fire hydrant before rolling over into the field. He said both occupants, believed to be in their late teens or early 20s, were in critical condition when they were transported from the scene.
Plainfield Police Sgt. Mike Fisher said the police department's crash investigation unit cleared the scene just before 8 a.m. Police said they expect to release additional information on the crash later Tuesday.

Video from ABC Chicago's Chopper 7 showed wreckage and debris from the vehicle at the scene and water pouring out from where a fire hydrant had been struck.
