21 District 202 High School Students Earn 'Commended' NMS Ranking
The students are among 34,000 others nationwide recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation for their "academic promise."
PLAINFIELD, IL — An additional 21 Plainfield District 202 students have earned National Merit Scholarship "commended" ranks. They join 10 other district students who were named semifinalists by the program Sept. 15.
Though the 21 students won't be competing in the 2022 competition for scholarships, they're among 34,000 students nationwide who are being recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation for their "exceptional academic promise," officials announced Thursday.
Commended-ranked students are among the top 50,000 scorers out of the more than 1.6 million students who entered the 2022 competition by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
