4 District 202 Students Awarded At 2023 Journalism Competition

PLAINFIELD, IL — Four students from Plainfield high schools took home top honors at the Illinois High School Association state journalism competition, officials said.

From Plainfield Central High School, senior Abigail Timm won sixth place in Yearbook Copy Writing. At Plainfield East High School, senior Kai Rogers won fourth place in Yearbook Copy Writing, and senior Alyssa Kotara and junior Shyla Munoz came away with fourth place in Yearbook Theme Development.

In total, 23 students from all four Plainfield School District 202 high schools competed in the state event held April 21 at Heartland Community College in Normal.
